AUREL, which has been specialising in comprehensive surface treatment of components for the automotive industry for more than 20 years, is opening a new chapter in its development. The company is currently installing a new, fully automated powder coating line in its production hall in Chrastava. Commissioning for trial operation is planned for early 2026. This step significantly expands the range of services offered to existing and new customers – not only in the automotive sector.
Another step in a comprehensive service chain
AUREL has long provided surface treatment services ranging from degreasing and passivation to phosphating, assembly and final delivery to customers. The new powder coating facility naturally builds on existing know-how and expands options for final surface finishes.
“Thanks to powder coating, we can now offer customers an even broader portfolio of services – from surface pre-treatment to final coating. We process parts under one roof, without the need for transport between multiple suppliers. This saves our customers time, logistics effort and costs,” explains Jan Sommer, Quality Manager at AUREL.
Fully automated line with robotic coating booth and multilayer coating
The installed powder coating facility is fully automated and requires minimal manual operation. An operator only hangs the part on the conveyor system, removes it after coating and curing, and packs it. The technology includes a robotic coating booth that ensures precise and uniform powder application. The robot operates at a constant speed with controlled powder dispersion, eliminating deviations and improving surface quality.
The line includes degreasing and passivation sections, a drying oven, two curing ovens and a modern part-handling system. The process also allows for multilayer coating – for example, a combination of primer and topcoat to achieve maximum uniformity, aesthetic quality and corrosion resistance.

Coating colour tailored to customer requirements
The principle of powder coating lies in applying powder to the surface of a metal component. The powder adheres to the surface, after which the part is placed in a curing oven where, at a defined temperature, the powder melts and forms a continuous coating. The result is a durable, uniform and visually clean surface. Key advantages of this technology include high mechanical and chemical resistance, environmental friendliness (no solvents are used), and a wide range of colour options. AUREL can offer colours according to customer requirements, with the only limitation being part size and weight in relation to the dimensions of the curing oven.
Expanded opportunities for automotive and other industries
Thanks to its long-standing experience in surface treatment and the strong backing of Colegium Holding, AUREL is able to respond flexibly to the specific requirements of global automotive manufacturers. The company holds IATF 16949 certification, which is standard in the automotive industry but uncommon in conventional coating operations outside this segment.
The automotive industry is among the sectors with the strictest standards and process requirements. AUREL meets all of these demands, enabling it to offer the same level of quality, precision and process stability to customers outside automotive as well – for example in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, furniture manufacturing, and agricultural and construction machinery.
Outlook for the future
The new powder coating facility expands AUREL’s surface treatment capabilities and provides customers with even greater assurance of quality and efficiency. Whether for automotive applications or other industries, AUREL offers a comprehensive solution from pre-treatment to final surface finishing – all under one roof and with a guarantee of the highest quality.
