In the automotive industry, every step determines the final quality of a component – from the material selection to final assembly. Surface treatment is often the last stage before parts are dispatched into production. AUREL not only provides surface treatment itself, but also all subsequent operations right through to delivery to the end customer. The result is a complete, consolidated process that helps leading global automotive manufacturers reduce costs, save time, and minimise risks arising from fragmented logistics.
Assembly operations after surface treatment
Many components can only be assembled after the surface treatment has been applied. For this reason, AUREL also provides additional assembly operations so that customers do not have to transport parts between multiple suppliers. This eliminates unnecessary logistics.
A large proportion of surface-treated parts must be fitted with elements such as screws or rivets prior to shipment. These components often cannot be passivated, as this could lead to damage. AUREL therefore performs their installation only after the final surface treatment. This includes press-fitting of screws, riveting, automated component assembly, and subsequent installation of additional elements following degreasing and passivation of parts.
Special applications and tailor-made solutions
AUREL is not just a surface treatment supplier – thanks to more than 20 years of experience working with leading global automotive manufacturers, it also offers a range of special applications and non-standard solutions. This flexibility makes it possible to respond to less common technical requirements and provide customers with exactly what they need.
Collophon 507™ anti-vibration compound
One example is the application of Collophon 507™ anti-vibration compound into aluminium castings. This material significantly reduces noise and vibrations transmitted into the vehicle cabin. AUREL introduced this service as a replacement for an inefficient solution in which parts were repeatedly transported between the Czech Republic and other countries.
At the production facility in Chrastava, a dedicated workstation was established where technicians apply the compound at a rate of 400 parts per shift. If required, AUREL can increase this capacity to up to 1,200 parts per shift or more, depending solely on customer requirements. Approximately 250 kg of Collophon compound is processed here daily. Parts are dried for 72 hours, undergo final inspection, and are then shipped. The entire process – from template design and 3D printing to handling technology and application – was developed in-house at AUREL. Thanks to this proprietary know-how, no external supplier is required, significantly reducing costs and increasing flexibility.

Bonding of aluminium components
Another example of special operations is the bonding of aluminium components. For this application, AUREL has built a complete dedicated workstation, including its own application tools and fixtures. The service also includes detailed part traceability and automated reporting.
“The examples of non-standard solutions mentioned were developed based on individual customer requirements. Our strength lies in our ability to transform even very specific needs into a standardised process that meets current automotive industry requirements,” says Jan Sommer, Quality Manager at AUREL.
Robotic design and welding
AUREL benefits from being part of the strong Colegium Holding group, which enables it to effectively leverage synergies within the group and cooperate with other specialised companies. Thanks to partners such as Automotive Painting Partners (APP) and EA Partner (EAP), AUREL also offers:
- robotic design and development of fully automated equipment,w
- robotic welding,
- combined operations – such as surface treatment followed by welding and final assembly,
- application of protective coatings or fillers for body components.
Customers thus receive a comprehensive, tailor-made solution – from component surface treatment through to final delivery.

Customer benefit: one supplier, one logistics flow, one process
AUREL’s comprehensive services save OEM and Tier 1 suppliers both time and cost by eliminating the need to transport parts between multiple suppliers. They also provide greater process stability and unified quality control, minimising risk. Customers gain additional capacity for their own production and development activities.
